L. Patrick Borkowski, M.S.

Patrick TalkingCoach Borkowski has been working with elite athletes for over 10 years at the collegiate, professional and Olympic levels. His career started at James Madison University while completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology; during this time, Patrick worked with a number of JMU's division 1 teams including track & field, wrestling and swimming. Additionally, he completed an internship with the University of Miami (Florida) football program as well as one with the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA ,working with Olympic athletes on their way to represent the USA at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Following his career at JMU, Coach Borkowski moved on to work at the University of Mississippi with the football program(quarterbacks and receivers) along with men's & women's tennis and baseball (pitchers). During his tenure at Ole Miss, Patrick completed his Master of Science degree in Exercise Science, concentrating in Biomechanics and Motor Learning. After completing the requirements for his degree, Coach Borkowski continued to educate himself by taking doctoral level classes in physiology.

From 2002 until late 2008 Patrick worked with in the Olympic Movement, starting as the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training center and ending as a Physiologist / Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Acrobat & Combat Sportfolio. Throughout his tenure at the USOC, Coach Borkowski had the opportunity to work hands on with athletes and coaches from all Olympic Sports, served at three Olympic and Paralympic Games and assisted a number of National Governing Bodies in the design and implementation of comprehensive quadrennial and annual plans.

While serving as a Strength & Conditioning specialist, Coach Borkowski collaborated with other professionals in the fields of Nutrition, Psychology, Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Recovery and Performance Technology, assembling the key success factors of each area into a synergist road map for international success.

Prior to starting his own consulting and training business, Patrick worked for 11 months as the High Performance Director of USA Boxing. Furthermore, throughout his professional career, Coach Borkowski has given hundreds of presentations from the national to local level on all areas of performance enhancement. He continues to consult with high schools, clubs, and universities, and serve as an instructor for USA Weightlifting, teaching both Sport Performance Specialist and Club Coach Certification courses.
